Inclusion in hospital
Here is a time when the @alanprojectfounder felt included by a nurse when he was admitted to hospital earlier in the year.
VD: a video of a coffee machine filling a mug with coffee. There is Black text on a white background that reads
“Of course. Are you a morning coffee person? I am as well.”
This was the response I was given when I politely asked for a coffee one morning during my hospital stay earlier in the
year.
The nurse didn’t judge me for needing a coffee. She didn’t treat my request as being too much.
She instead empathised with me and understood my need for caffeine to function throughout the day.
As someone whose needs have been made out to be
‘too much’ in the past, this really mattered to me.
Thank you to this nurse at
Box Hill Hospital for showing me that my needs matter during what was already a stressful time for me.
This was a time when I felt truly included by someone.
For the first few seconds, a photo of Satria appears with text below which reads: Content produced by Satria Arbai.
